Custom Spool Reservation Policy

We love giving our customers the freedom to print with a wide range of colors and materials. To keep things efficient, we keep our most popular filaments in stock — and you can always browse our Filament Library to see what’s currently available.

If you’d like a print using a filament that’s currently out of stock, we’re happy to special-order it for you! However, since spools are typically sold in 1kg quantities and often go underused when a small print is requested, we’ve introduced the following policy to help us sustainably accommodate custom material requests:

How It Works

If your print uses a filament that is not currently in stock, a Custom Spool Reservation Fee will apply.

  • There is a 200g minimum charge for any out-of-stock material we need to order.
  • If your print uses less than 200g, we will charge you for the full 200g.
  • If your print uses 200g or more, you’ll simply pay for the amount used — no extra fee.

You’ll Get Credit Back

If you're charged the Custom Spool Reservation Fee, you won’t lose the value of the unused material.

  • You will receive store credit equal to the cost of the unused portion (e.g., 150g if your print used 50g).
  • This credit is valid for 6 months.

This way, you’re not just paying a surcharge — you're reserving that spool for yourself, and you're welcome to use the rest in future prints.

Policy Reminders

This policy only applies to filaments marked "On Request" on our Filament Library page.

  • Credit issued through this policy expires 6 months after the date of your original order.
  • We do not ship or transfer ownership of unused filament — it remains part of our inventory for your future use.

Why We Have This Policy

Some materials and colors are rarely requested, and purchasing a full spool for a small print often results in wasted inventory. This policy helps us remain flexible without taking a loss — and gives you credit to use every gram you’ve paid for.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to helping you bring your ideas to life — no matter how specific your vision may be.
