JUST. KIDDING.
Still haven’t finished AD-Slicer.
Yeah, yeah, I know. But I am working on it! Progress is definitely happening behind the scenes — just a little slower than I’d hoped. At this point, I don’t really want to toss out another time estimate because, let’s be real… that didn’t go so well last time.
Just know it’s coming. And hopefully soon.™️
Outside of slicer dev limbo, I had a nice highlight this week: a family friend placed an order with me!
Not only were they happy to support the business, but they were also genuinely impressed with the print quality — which always feels really good to hear. Getting solid feedback from people outside the 3D printing bubble helps a lot.
Now for the learning moment of the week: minifigures again.
I’m starting to realize that I probably need to put some restrictions on which minis I offer to print — especially when the models weren’t designed for FDM. Some of the ultra-detailed ones (like the 20-micron facial-scar-texture level stuff) just aren’t realistic on my machines.
Even if I can eventually get one to print, it usually takes multiple failed attempts, and by the time I get one that works, I’ve basically spent more on filament than I made from the sale.
So — I’m still open to printing minis, but I’ll likely limit it to models that were actually made with FDM in mind.
If you’re reading this and planning to order one, feel free to reach out first so we can check if it’s a good fit.
That’s all for this week — not a huge one, but still inching forward, one slicer bug and print layer at a time.
Thanks for sticking around.
