Slower Week, Small Wins, and Big Filament Energy

Slower Week, Small Wins, and Big Filament Energy

Andrew Dzobko

Hey again!
This week was a little slower on the AD-BITS front — mostly because I had a lot of personal and family stuff to deal with. Life happens, and that’s okay. Still, even in a lower gear, a few good things got done.

First off: two more sales!
Even on a less productive week, those came in and helped keep things moving. Most of my sales so far have been small custom prints, but they’ve all helped me learn a bit more about what people are actually looking for.

I’ve also been continuing to sketch out ideas for new products. Even if none of them are store-ready yet, there’s a decent little backlog growing behind the scenes — ideas waiting for the right moment to become real.

One thing I’ve started thinking more seriously about is packaging.
Right now, when I hand off an order, it’s usually just the item — sometimes with loose parts, which I know isn’t ideal. So here’s the plan:
I’m going to start using little brown paper bags for small orders. And I want to print on them — not just a logo, but also the order number, customer name, and a QR code linking to assembly instructions or the AD-BITS site.

Which brings me to my next equipment goal: a color printer.
It’s a small thing, but I think it’ll really help the presentation and customer experience. Plus, it’ll be nice to have it at home for printing manuals, inserts, or anything else business-related.

Also: business cards!
I finally got them printed and they’re arriving on Monday. It’s a small but satisfying milestone — it feels like a step closer to having a proper “presence,” even if it’s just in someone’s wallet.

Oh — and I stocked up on filament in a big way.
Ten rolls total: 4 PETG and 6 PLA in different colors. So now I’ve got way more flexibility when it comes to both custom prints and product inventory. If anyone’s looking for something in a specific color, chances are I’ve got it!

That’s all for this week. Not my most productive one, but still moving forward!

Catch you next time,
—AD
